All-Inclusive, All-New, and Exclusively for Adults
HILTON PLAYA DEL CARMEN is a newly renovated, all-inclusive escape for adults-only. The resort offers privacy and romance amid casual elegance, comfort and convenience. Located in the famed Riviera Maya region, and just steps away from the vibrant Fifth Avenue. The AAA Four-Diamond all-suite resort features private balconies or terraces with hot tubs, and sweeping ocean views, palm-lined, white-sand beaches and exhilarating activities for young and old. Guests delight in a variety of delectable dining venues—including the brand-new Kalamata and La Mejorada. New Suites. New Restaurants. New bars. New lobby. It's all new, and it's all at Hilton Playa del Carmen.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The restaurants were excellent along with the service. The only thing we didn’t like was the daytime entertainment, it felt like a spring break atmosphere. Although the resort can’t control the behavior of the guests, we believe it was due to the loud obnoxious music that they were playing. It created a party like atmosphere and certainly not what we were expecting at an adults only resort. They do have a quiet pool, which was amazing and peaceful for the times we felt like relaxing. But the area is too small to accommodate guests who are seeking peace and quiet. The beach was a disappointment, but we knew that prior to coming, due to the Sargasm. There were crews cleaning every day, but it was just too overwhelming for them to keep up with. No fault of the resort at all. Other than the spring break party atmosphere, we have zero complaints as to the service, cleanliness, and location of the hotel. We would consider coming back if the daytime entertainment didn't exist.
This is one of the best all-inclusive hotels I have stayed in.
The location is just off 5th Avenue. We had planned to use the hotel as a base and explore the area, but it was so nice that we ended up not leaving nearly as much as we had planned!
The beach – yes, there is a seaweed problem, but that affects the whole area and isn’t something the hotel can control. The hotel does its best to manage it and keep the beach as clean as possible.
The pool was fantastic, and the foam party was brilliant. We rented cabanas for two days and used a normal sun lounger on another day. The staff were attentive wherever we were. My only disappointment was with one of the cabana days. The guests in the next cabana invited a large group over who were drinking heavily, and at one point people actually sat on our cabana bed. I would have appreciated the staff being a little more vigilant and dealing with the situation, as it was very awkward and I ultimately had to ask them to move.
The restaurants were varied and all of a really high standard. We stayed for a week and never felt like the food was repetitive, and we didn’t even make it to all of the restaurants. Visits to all but one were included, with no limit on how often you could visit. Aromas was also a lovely place to grab an iced coffee.
The room faced the road, but there was plenty of greenery outside so you could barely tell. It was spacious and had a hammock on the balcony, although we never actually got around to using the balcony or the jet tub! The housekeeping was excellent, and the room was cleaned to an incredibly high standard every day.
One thing we didn’t know about was the hotel app. Another guest mentioned it to us on our second-to-last day, so unfortunately we didn’t realise that this was where you could book activities or check which restaurants were open. That information is also available at the restaurants and in the lobby, so it wasn’t a major issue, but it would have been helpful to know about the app when we arrived.
I chose this hotel for my birthday, and the staff left a lovely dessert and a note in the room, which was a really thoughtful touch.
Overall, it had everything I wanted: great food, fantastic staff, a lovely pool area – and my glass was never empty!
I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.
Thanks, Hyatt!
First of all before going into all the great points of this hotel I want to start by correcting some of the reviews that have been left several times for eating and drinking.
You can drink alcohol from 10:00 am until midnight and eat 24hours a day using the room service facility, however, some recent reviewers appear to be unhappy especially around the drinking element that being an adult resort they should not stop alcohol at midnight ! All I can say is that those reviewers have serious problems if they believe the current timings are inadequate and are unable to have as much free drinking to enjoy themselves.
This is a true 5 star resort with the Service, staff, housekeeping and management all excellent from my interactions.
You are very well looked after when sitting around the pool with the waiting staff very attentive always asking if you would like another drink. Shout out to Roberto who is great.
There are plenty of recliners and I don’t understand some reviewers saying they had issues with getting one and permanently being upsold cabanas. We never saw any of that when we were at the pool for around 6 hours every day. We did consider a cabana, however the recliners we had and the service we received were enough.
All the restaurants are excellent and have added some pics of the food. If you book this resort you will have an excellent vacation.
Katia did an amazing job leading our yoga class. Make sure to visit her in the morning at 8:00 for a great way to get your day started feeling relaxed.
The class I had with Katia was incredible! She was helpful, accommodating to beginners, and very insightful. I definitely recommend her Yoga class!
