Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Had a lovely family holiday at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo.
It’s a beautiful, clean, well maintained hotel with excellent food choices, a wealth of bars and restaurants and good entertainment.
We enjoyed watching world cup games in the sports bar and the fire show in the beach was also very good.
The pools were clean and varied, although its a shame none of them are deep enough to dive/jump. Enjoyed the lazy river and I personally liked the slide area more than my kids did for some reason. It’s great for under 10s. Not sure about the foam party in the pool - I found a young kid trying quite hard to drown having been swallowed up. Fun for adults though.
The beach was good - a bit of sargasso but it didn’t stop us enjoying it.
Service was mostly excellent especially in the buffet restaurant and pool bar. It was a bit slow in El Geisha and pretty poor in the Greek restaurant but those were isolated events.
We were bribed into doing the two hour sales pitch to buy membership, which was an interesting insight into sales psychology aimed oerhaps at an american audience, but it was worth it as we were given a free trip for 5 to go snorkelling on a cataraman and got to swim with turtles. (No, we didn’t buy the £54,000 membership).
The room was spacious with plenty of storage and free mini bar and a great shower and bathroom. It would benefit from having a full length mirror. We actually got a joined room with our kids which was great as it gave us a bit more privacy a d the kids more freedom. The hotel felt very safe and we allowed our kids to roam around pretty freely in the main part.
We didn’t go to the spa but did visit the shopping mall area which was also great as it had a crepe shop and churro shop (included in all inclusive) and the kids enjoyed playing patio chess and draughts. The shops are very expensive so I would recommend going into Playa del Carmen if you need anything.
The gym looked good but we didn’t use it.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would be tempted to return if I ever come back to Mexico. I’m missing it to be honest!
Can't rate this hotel enough as my 9 year old Son has celiac and nothing wasn't a problem, as the chef would walk round with him every day or make him gluten free food like chicken nuggets, any sort of pasta or pizzas. Hotel grounds and beach is amazing and so well looked after and also all the great swimming pools. We had a wonderful time here and ignore all the negative reviews. Just want to say a special thank you to the three chefs Victoria, Yessica and Ximena for treating my boy in the restaurants like a little prince and he was so happy eating the gluten free food he loves.
We have just returned from a 10 night stay and had the best holiday! The resort is beautiful and staff work tirelessly to keep it maintained. They were busy doing something in every direction you turned to make sure it was looking great. Large swimming pool with drinks flowing (strong ones!). Highlights for us were the foam party - the kids loved it. We saw a couple of shows which were excellent. We enjoyed the food - we preferred the buffet to the à la carte restaurants. They weren't amazing and better selection for kids in the buffet. Service was outstanding across resort and we tipped fairly. Concierge arranged transportation for a couple of trips which was helpful and we couldn't fault the transport provided. Was initially worried about size of resort and finding our way around but really not as daunting as first thought - layout is good. We were in block 55 which was a perfect location for us. Didn't use the beach much due to the seaweed but the pools made up for this.
Only one criticism... didn't like constantly being asked for photo shoot and eye art photos. We were hounded about this multiple times a day, even after already saying no. If people say no, it means no. And the cost of things in the shops on resort is eye watering! Other than those two downsides we had a wonderful holiday and would return.
Our family recently stayed at Iberostar Selection Paraíso Lindo in Riveria Maya. The trip started off great—the resort is beautiful, and the staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly.
Unfortunately, three days into our stay, I noticed I had bites on my legs and ankles that were itchy and beginning to swell. We decided to inspect the bed and discovered what appeared to be a bed bug infestation, which we documented with photos and videos.
After three calls to reception, we finally had a concierge arrange for our room to be inspected, and we were moved to another room. However, the response from management afterward was extremely disappointing. We were not initially offered any assistance with laundering our belongings, despite the obvious concern of potentially bringing bed bugs with us. We had to advocate for our clothes to be washed, and we were initially charged for the service. The fee was eventually reimbursed at checkout.
Management then told us they would meet with us over dinner to discuss the situation. They never showed up and did not contact us afterward.
Three days after the incident, with still no follow-up from management, we went to the lobby ourselves to ask about compensation and what was being done. A manager/supervisor informed us that the original room had been quarantined and was being treated for bed bugs, confirming that this was a legitimate issue with the room. Despite this, they were unable to offer us any meaningful assistance.
From the moment the bed bugs were discovered through the end of our stay, Iberostar did not offer any medical assistance for my swollen bites, compensation for the disruption of having to change rooms, or any meaningful acknowledgment of what we had experienced.
The resort itself is beautiful, and our interactions with most of the staff were positive. However, discovering bed bugs in our room was a serious issue, and what made the experience considerably worse was how management handled it afterward. We expected the situation to be taken seriously, communicated about, and addressed appropriately. Instead, we had to repeatedly seek out assistance ourselves.
Overall, we cannot recommend Iberostar to anyone looking for an all inclusive resort in Riveria Maya. There is a numerous amount of resorts in the area, you would be best off spending your money somewhere they will give you more attention. It would have meant a lot for Iberostar to simply acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and make a reasonable effort to assist us after we literally discovered bed bugs in the room we had been sleeping in.
The Lindo hotel is nice , full of animals Starcamp is huge with los of activities and a minichef with beverages and snacks! This place is great! My granddaughter loved it. Especially participating in the Mexican show. Thanks !
