Secrets Impression Moxche

We first stayed with Impression Moxche in October 2025 and were wowed. It was our favorite resort to date. This time, we had high expectations based on that visit, and they were met. It was, overall, another WOW experience (though not without a few glitches.)

We had the butler we requested, Nefteli, and he did an excellent job for us. He really tried to go over and above to make things happen for us and pre-anticipated needs and acted accordingly, really making our stay extra special. Our other butler, Emilio, also did a very good job for us, but sometimes with a lag on time. He was butler during the day and we realize that he may have just been tied up with other guests requests during the same time frame as we suspect they have more things to do for guests during the day. Both butlers did an excellent job for us and tried to make our stay exceptional.

Housekeeping did a great job; the room was clean and tidy, and bar and snacks were (mostly) kept refilled. Turn down was nice.

Our experience at the spa with hydrotherapy started out exceptionally wih Karolina on our first hydrotherapy visit where we were well-treated and got the whole treatment as did others. On subsequent visits, we felt we did not get the same treatment as other guests. There was an issue with being given loungers by our assistant, Oscar, and taken away by anoher woman who said did it by proclaiming "They were here before you." (Perhaps they were in the spa before us, but they were not on loungers as they were set up for Diana by Oscar when he gave them to her.) She did it just as Richard walked up to sit on the loungers with Diana already on them, and when Diana said "Oscar assigned these to us," she kept repeating her "They were hear before you claim", then went over and questioned Oscar, sent him over to say the same thing, and the whole episode completely ruined the experience for Diana, taking any relaxation and joy away and she left. Oscar did not offer cold headresses before this event. The subsequent visits we were left wanting cold headresses and cucumbers while on the loungers and left watching as the staff did that treatment who sat after we did. We felt we were not treatly equally as others by this woman, Oscar, and Matias and it honestly ruined some of the hydrotherapy experience.

The experience at Teodoro was excellent, our server, Michael, and busboy, Aaron, were attentive and explanatory. The food was less successful. The kitchen attempted to accommodate Diana's allergies but were not so successful at this. Some courses seemed like they just left out the offending ingredients rather than work to provide a similar level of food without them, and the real headscratcher were the dessert substitutions. The veal cheek was oily and unappealing. The sea bass was not something Diana eats and Richard's was a little dry. Diana got simply decorated red sorbet for the first one while Richard had a a more elaborate set up. When Diana put her spoon in the sorbet, the whole thing dissapated into a huge puddle and became soup. It was unappealing. The real headscratcher was on the second dessert. Richard got an elaborate presentation and Diana got a SECOND serving of a different flavor of red sorbet, decorated similarly to the first. SERIOUSLY? If a chef with allergies were seated, is that what you would do for them? It was incredibly underwhelming. Diana was given a special birthday brownie which was a nice touch, but it tasted as though it had dairy, which she is supposed to avoid. It also seriously needed something creamy, like coconut milk whipped cream, to offset the cloying dark chocolate. On the whole, the food was better for Richard than Diana. Diana was glad she ate a small meal at Cielo a couple of hours before, as otherwise she would have left Teodoro dissappointed, hungry, and dissatisfied. Teodoro would be well-served to offer a choice of two items at each course, allowing the guests to choose in advance of the visit (so the staff can prep), and to consult with guests with allergies on likes and dislikes in food. Perhaps one way around it would be to offer a meat/poultry/seafood or fish selection, a vegetarian selection, and a non-soy vegan selection and allow the guests to choose 24 hours before the dinner starts. We realize it is about chef artistry, but artistry alone does not a good meal make. Diana was glad she ate first at Cielo a couple of hours before, as otherwise she would have left Teodoro dissappointed, hungry, and dissatisfied. Based on this experience, Diana would not eat there again. Richard might or might not. Neither would pay for the experience.

Allora was a huge surprise that we did not expect for an Italian restaurant. The food was exceptional. Everything we ate was fabulous, and we ordered bruschetta, seafood pizza, salad, two pastas (the truffle gnocchi so good we had a second order!), fish, and tiramisu. We wished we had eaten there more times, but it was only open one night of the stay so we did not get to try it until the last night. The server, Angel, was polite but lacked warmth and did not smile. Cannot recommend the food there any more highly. It was fabulous.

Cielo indoors at lunch was quite good. It had a good variety of choices and the food was well-prepared. Service from Orlando was exceptional. Victor at the bar made great lychee martinis and carajillos. There was an episode Diana had on Wenesday, where she at lunch inside alone and was next to table of some kind of corporate group wearing gold pins who were seated at a large table at the center and getting all the attention. She got lukewarm fries, a cold burger, and it was missing the dressing. Her attempts to get service went ignored and 10 minutes later she had to walk up to the bar to get it fixed and remade (it came out properly the second time.) The woman , her name may have been something like Karis, who brought the food kept trying to blame the server, Osceola, for the issues, but it was SHE that had been asked for dressing that never came, while a cold burger got colder. Her response should have been a simple apology. It was not a good look for the restaurant to have staff pointing fingers to avoid blame.

Cielo at dinner was exceptional. The food was great, and even though Diana has food restrictions along with likes and dislikes that she thought would keep her from finding food to order, ended up ordering her selections twice. Richard truly enjoyed all his selections as well. Victor was an exceptional server for this dinner.

Cielo poolside lunch service was delightful, prompt, and tasty. Kudo’s to Javier, Orlando, and Abierto for keeping everything prompt and the correct temperature. They were kind, friendly, and guest oriented.

Bisou was also a favorite. The utter standout was the fois gras, the best we have ever had. Service was good to great. The second night dining indoors was better than dining outdoors was both for timing and for experience.

Ember was a fail. The menu had gone downhill in selections from last Oct. It took an hour for entrees to arrive after the appetizers. The burger was the best item we ordered. Shrimp and Short Rib were dry. Would not return to Ember again. The server tried to make up for the slowness of the kitchen, but the kitchen is not in his control and we felt sorry for him having to do so when he provided good service himself.

Seaside Beach Club was a dissappointment. Last year we loved it, but the new menu was not that appealing, and food was uneven. Putting filet in a tortilla and adding tzatziki does not make it a "gyro." It was okay, but it was nothing close to a gyro, and should have been called a filet sandwich or a filet taco. The grilled shrimp were overcooked and dry. The things we loved from last year were gone. We did not return after having lunch there on our first day.

Breakfast at Seasoul had excellent service, great atmosphere, and good food.

Joaquin and Victor at the Impressions bar gave excellent service, remembered drinks, and always had a smile.

Theatre was not so great. Seats quite uncomfortable. Cirque had great acrobatics but dancing needed much work. The set up at the Impression section was lacking. We were first in line and guided to sit at near end, which we ignored and went in further to find better seats. Server never brought our drinks even though he brought all the people around us theirs. Show timing should either have two seatings for "big" shows or have it after latest dinner service is over, especially with difficulty getting dining reservations.

Fitness center was small and could use some updating but otherwise fine, functional, and clean.

We were not only welcomed for our status but were given extra attention for the GOH we attached to the stay including hydrotherapy and a two level room upgrade. The attention to Hyatt status was great and was welcome. The room was Oceanfront and had a glorious view.

Overall, a fabulous stay and we hope to return next year. We love Impression Moxché.

The resort offers plenty of daytime and nighttime activities depending on your level of participation. We enjoyed the speakeasy club and salsa classes. The only downfall is they did have some areas of construction that hindered some of the walk paths and made some noise during the day. Also the elevators were on and off service. However glad to see they are expanding. The Spa was perfect! The restaurants were top notch! I was hesitant to stay under the secrets umbrella chain however impressions raised the bar and it was clear they operate differently from the other branches. I would recommend this resort and would definitely visit again for our anniversary!

Everything from check-in to check-out and everything inbetween was first class. Our Butler's Cesar and Alberto were sensational. They assisted with all of our requests and by mid-week were able to anticipate our needs. They worked tirelessly to ensure our vacation was memorable.

Our meals at Allora, Ember, Suki, Cielo, Seaside Beach Club and Teodoro were excellent. The food quality and service was first class.

We had big expectations coming into this vacation, and Impression Moxche was able to exceed them.
