Beautiful wedding but resort had it's issues and needed some adjustments.
The smell was awful. it smelled like STRONG Sewage and the beach was brown and looked horrible. Not beautiful or blue as you see in the pictures. I didn't get to enjoy it at all. The animals were aggressive and running around the walk ways and balcony looking for food. Walk ways very scary at night or in the date time. The front desk was not very accommodating for my 89 year old Aunt. We were there for a destination wedding and they put us in a room on the 2nd floor with no elevator then charged us another $300 to upgrade to a room that was on the 1st floor. Actually a handicapped room for 1 and it was 2 of us in the room.

Wedding experience
I had my wedding here and it was the most perfect experience I could have asked for. Veronica was my wedding coordinator and she did the most amazing job. Everything came together so beautifully and I would 100% recommend this too anyone!!! Dania and Karina were our waiters and everyone raved about how awesome the food and the service was:)

We had excellent service at the buffet. The food was good and the people taking care of us, people like Shaday, Julio, Sergio and Damian made us feel special with the care and service they were providing. NEW CLUB SECTION
We stayed at Dreams Sapphire for the third time at the end of August. It was the first time that we have stayed in a Club Room in the new building. We were really glad we did for several reasons: an elevator, ocean front, great air conditioning, the rooftop pool, the Sushi Restaurant, and close to everything (very important since I recently had knee replacement surgery).
Our room on the second floor had a nice view and you didn’t notice any sargassum that might be on the beach. They cleaned it early every morning with a machine. The water however was murky near the shore but wasn’t really in our line of sight.
Our room was very nice. The air conditioning worked so well that it took two days of adjusting it to get it warm enough that I wasn’t freezing. I did have to complain twice that we didn’t have hot water in the room. But once it was fixed, we had plenty for showers and my nightly soak in the Jacuzzi on the balcony. My only complain is there is no way to shut off the lights on the balcony. We asked about it and they said they shut off automatically but ours never shut off day or night. It would have been nice to be able to see they ocean as I sat in my Jacuzzi rather than my reflection in the balcony glass.
We loved the rooftop pool. There were plenty of canopied beds. The bartender Jaime was great! My only complaint is that they did not allow us to use a floatie. When they first told me, there was no one in the pool but us so it couldn’t be a fear of bothering other guests. Nowhere on the posted rules does it say that floaties are not allowed. Someone thought it was because of the infinity pool and that someone would float over the side. Maybe with an air mattress. My floatie is like a hammock with netting between the two blow-up sides. I sit very low in the water. Since I recently had knee surgery, not having to stand in the pool would have been helpful. We weren’t the only people who were very disappointed about this rule.
We really enjoyed all the Club restaurants. Our waiters for breakfast: Cande and Gumer provided exceptional service. We especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and Eggs Benedict.
Be aware that the Sushi Restaurant serves more than sushi! I wouldn’t have known that if one of the waiters hadn’t told me as I was walking by. The ribeye and shrimp tacos were delicious. The burrito was excellent. They had hot crispy French fries.
We enjoyed the Teppanyaki table (don’t skip the dessert! It was the best I had all week!), the “dinosaur” ribs at Bluewater Grill, and numerous dishes at Portofino.
We really enjoyed our visit to Dreams Sapphire and hope to return!
