A relaxing week - the resort is well kept and the staff are excellent. The swimming pools are clean and of a good temperature. There’s no beach and this time minimal sargassum so no smell.
We had great service provided by all but especially our butlers. Isaac and Joaquin. They were attentive and very timely in responding to our questions and needs. Always good humored, professional and polite.
The restaurants are limited in number; an Italian, a steak house and the name brand landshark pub. However, the menus offered good variety and enjoyable food. For breakfast there is only a buffet, which would not have been our preference.
Our room was modern, comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. Our housekeeper was Carmen; she was very conscientious and friendly.
We liked Joe MerchantS, where we would go for our daily iced coffee - snacks were also available. The point system is a good idea for reducing waste drinks in rooms, but it would be nice be nice if there were more options, for example, the local coffee was on sale but it would have been nice to be able to purchase with points.
The bars were not busy and each has its own character. There is the SOS bar at the main pool, complete with swings, where we enjoyed some fun shots including mini beers. Also, another pool bar attached to a quieter pool where they conduct cocktail and cooking classes - we did not go but love the idea. Our favorite bar is the Salted rim where mixologists make fun and original drinks. This year, compared to last year, our experience in this bar was a little disappointed as we were served in a plastic cup vs glass last year and all the fancy toppings were not added. Also, last year we enjoyed live music but this year that wasn’t offered.
Overall, an enjoyable and relaxing experience in a quiet resort - we intend to return next year. For us, the authenticity of Mexican people makes returning there a lure.
Eddie and Anthony were amazing. We ran into them for both breakfast and lunch and each time always smiling! Went out of their way to add room for our morning buffet after multiple people showed up. Instead of getting separate tables, which we were planning, those two grabbed tables and moved them around for the whole family. Appreciate the love!!
Amazing experience, luxury installations, great environment. Customer service is impeccable, great service from Esteban, Laura, and Angel, and everyone. Will come back
Very clean and well decorated resort with tropical island themed colors Great staff and food Rooms are beautiful and generously sized Bar and restaurant staff were fabulous - Bryan in Frank and Lola’s, Noel and Erick in the Boathouse And really enjoyed the activities with Marco and Estevan!!
First off this was our second time at this resort. It was the same week, just a different year. We wanted to check it one more time before we signed up to be a member. Again, I would give resort a 5 for presentation. Everyone works very hard to keep the grounds and facilities clean and maintained. Our room was wonderful. We had a swim out which I would highly recommend. Last time we had the infinity pool on the fourth floor which we also loved. The entertainment staff was wonderful and was led by Jorge who really was a team leader. The food average in all restaurants except for Frank and Lulo above average and that goes for the service also. Our first morning we went for the buffet breakfast. My husband was told he needed to wear a shirt that covered his shoulders. We thought wow that is cool that they have rules and enforce them. It became a game going forward and watching how many newbies got sent back and had no issue with it. Now is where the issue lies. One afternoon someone was over served or lacked tolerance and threw up in the activity pool. Which closed it down for the rest of the day. No big deal, the activity group went to the quiet pool. But still the pool was closed. Next day there were issues with people playing their own speakers in the pool area. Which became a huge issue with multiple guests, security and the lifeguard. If staff walking around would hear music other than what is provided and went to those people and asked nicely to refrain from private music. Problem solved. We saw numerous people vaping in the pool and even smoking. If you aren't going to enforce the rules, don't have them. We personally had an issue with our neighbors playing loud music on their patio. Called the front desk and it was taken care of that night. The second night of loud music I went and personally talked to the front desk and asked what the protocol was and they said they give a warning and the second time they have to leave. When we got back to our room the music was turned down. Last night we got to our room at 11 pm to hear their blaring music again. Asked them to turn it down three times. Which then there was name calling and arguing. Called security again and they came and talked to them. Again, simple solution if issues were nipped in the butt it would have never escalated to that point. So, my point is their lack of consistency in their rules. A little enforcing would have made a more enjoyable vacation for everyone. I did contact management of our issue there and when we got home. Their candid response was thank you for making us aware of these issues. We will talk to security about the issues. Please give us another chance to prove that we could have a better experience. I gave you a chance when we were there to turn it around and you didn't. So was it a chill Jimmy Buffet vibe far from in.
