- Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

Bordered by a private white sand beach and lush tropical landscapes, this decadent luxury resort pulls out all the stops for an unreal holiday for families and couples alike. The resort is situated near Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera, less than 50 kilometres from the pre-Colombian Mayan ruins of Tulum. Visitors will have many opportunities to explore the area with excursions to Tulum and Chichen-Itza archaeological sites, and can swim with dolphins or even tour the Hard Rock sister hotel in Cancun. Each room offers generous proportions, a hydro spa bathtub, private balcony, and a range of state-of-the-art amenities, all decorated with vibrant colours and textures. Guests will delight in the private beach, children's pool and family pool, and the resort also offers a sophisticated and opulent adults-only hotel with four pools, nine imaginative restaurants and six lavish bars exclusively for adults.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
My family and I just got back from Hard Rock Riveria Maya. We had such a fun time. We have a 17 year old son so we picked this resort because of all there was to do for someone his age. The water park was excellent for him and a few others teens he met at the resort.
The food and drink quality was very good. Alot of options to pick from. We got advice to bring a big water bottle before we came. That did come in handy as they would make drinks for you in your cups. Less trios to pool bar.
We booked an excursion through Alex at the resort and we had the best time. Thank you Alex.
I gave this resort a 4 instead of a 5 for a few reasons. Our first room 5209 was extremely hot. We had to call a few times to see if someone could fix the AC. Enrique was our hero and new best friend. After a night of sweating and hardly any sleep, Enrique found us a new room. He even came to find us at the pool and helped us move rooms when the new one was ready. Room 6211 was perfect. Thank you Enrique.
The second reason for the 4 was the "towel game" is played hard at this resort. You didnt get any chairs after 8:30am by pool, due to people putting personal items and saving chairs and the VIP members who had there names on chairs to let us know they were there's. Most of the VIP people were only ones to have umbrellas.
Other than that we had a wonderful vacation and would recommend this to others.
Our time was made special by our butler’s Paola and Omar. The resort was great and lots of upgrades since we were last there.
We recently had a 1 week vacation in paradise. We consider this area our home away from home, and we had an amazing time. Thank you so much to nacho and Bernardo, our butlers and amigos who made our stay seamless and amazing, even adding a drink of the day suggestion. Food at the resort is very good, and we particularly enjoyed Frida (thank you Part) and the new Mayan restaurant Umo (Lenyn and Irving make a great team). We spent much of the week at the pool, and want to thank in particular Benito, Felipe, Jennifer, Ana and sandy. They work in the heat to be sure we are always refreshed. Toro restauarant near the ocean is a fine place to enjoy a meal, and Eduardo added a great touch. Enrique at Ciao went above and beyond and Bo and staff at Petit Cochon even surprised me with a retirement celebration (Thanks all). I highly recommend a Bali bed near the beautiful and breezy ocean, and ask for Alejandro. Gracias Amigo. We did head to Xcaret for a day of amazing experiences including our delfine Kichpam. Good girl. Then we headed out for golf at the Hard Rock course, where Olan and staff continue to get the job done. Thanks all. I already miss not getting up earlier to grab a cappucino for my wife nd a cafe con leche for me about 6:30 each morning. Thanks for the service during the week ladies. Sales staff was informative and professional. Thanks Leo. The shows are excellent, the massages and hydro therapy are relaxing and refreshing, and we are already planning our return. My grandson said it was his best vacation ever.
Two areas of concern - please bring back turn down service and also reconsider hall of fame wine and bali bed usage when presidentials are booked. Thank you.
See you all very soon. Nos Vemos Prontos. God willing.
Wonderful experience. Shout out to our Farro restaurant crew: Manager Maria, Eugenio, Mateo, Jessica, Keila, Sol, Alfredo.
I just returned from the Hard Rock Hotel in Rivera Maya. I was there with 70 other people to celebrate my daughter’s Mother-in-law Annette 60th Birthday. There is nothing really bad I can say about the place. Everyone was very nice. But there was one gentleman that really went above and beyond his job duties. His name was Saul. I didn’t get his last name but her was one of the people who picked guests up in the carts and take them to where they wanted to go on the property. Well I was roomy with two of my closest friends. Juli and Diane B. Saul happened to be the guy who picked us up to go some place on the property. From the first time he drove us he always made sure we made it back to our room safely. When we called him at the last minute he was Johnny on the spot and picked us up pronto. A couple of times we told him to pick us up at a certain time and place but we ended up going somewhere else. And he made sure he found us and got us back to our room. He always went above and beyond his call of duty. It didn’t matter our request he did what was humanly possible to make sure our needs were met and always had a smile on his face doing it. Saul was a diamond in the rough. We could not have asked for any better.
