Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Spa

We were very disappointed, so much so that we sacrificed 2 nights that were already paid for and moved to another hotel. We found the check in process was a little disappointing, they keep everyone sitting in reception until the tick of 3pm, which there is nothing wrong with as that’s the check in time, but it almost felt like they made a point of not letting people into their rooms until the tick of 3pm. Again, this is ok as that’s the published time, but it just could be done better which would make you feel more valued.

We thought the breakfast was terrible and everything was cold. The coffee is made in bulk and left to sit on the coffee machine to obviously save time, but it means you’re not getting fresh coffee. Unfortunately there is also a lot of little bugs on the food which isn’t ideal. They had some nice looking options like sushi, but because it was left out in the warm weather with bugs, I didn’t really want to eat it or let the kids have it.

One of the most frustrating parts was that there is absolutely nowhere to sit around the pool. People go down early and leave towels and personal items on the chairs so unless you get there at 8am, you literally have nowhere to sit. They need to either police it better or buy more chairs. The hotel is so big with so many people and the pool facilities are just not big enough. It’s pretty pointless going to a hotel if you can’t sit around the pool.

The room wasn’t dirty but not overly nice. We definitely would stay here again and wouldn’t suggest it. To be honest, I’m absolutely amazed it has a rating above 4 stars.

👍 The E-Concierge team was fantastic. We had several questions and booking changes before our stay, and every request was handled quickly and professionally. It made the whole process stress-free. 👍 The best part of our stay was the staff. Every staff member greeted us with a smile whenever we walked by, which made our whole family feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed throughout our holiday. 👍 The pool area was one of the highlights for our children. The pools were clean and well maintained. 👍 We were also impressed that the staff regularly collected used towels and replaced them with fresh ones throughout the day. This small but thoughtful service made the pool experience even more enjoyable. 👍 We also enjoyed dining at the restaurants during our stay. All the food we tried was satisfying, and our family had a great experience with the meals.

There were a few minor areas for improvement. 😐 The breakfast offered plenty of choices, but the overall quality was a little below our expectations. 😐 The taste and quality of some cold drinks such as smoothies, shakes, and mocktails could be improved. 🤔 One family member felt the bedding was slightly damp, although it wasn't enough to affect our stay. 🤔 The shower water pressure was also weaker than we're used to in Korea.

Overall, these were only minor issues. We had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this resort to families visiting Bali.
