Garrya Tongsai Samui is such a fabulous place to stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful and attentive. We had 2 beachfront villas for 5 of us. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. So much space, immaculately clean with such comfortable beds. The swimming pool was huge and spotlessly clean. The beach was beautiful, so peaceful. There were paddle boards, kayaks and 2 small catamarans for anyone to use. The staff at the pool were so helpful! Breakfast was AMAZING! The food at Fish Tales was delicious! There are steep steps up to breakfast but if you can’t manage them or don’t want to walk up, any of the staff will ring for a buggy to collect you! Very efficient! None of us can think of anything negative to say! We will definitely be back! Thank you to Mark, the hotel manager and all of the staff for a really special few days.
9 days of perfection. Our 3 generation family holiday was unforgettable for all. The logistics to organise time was hard as was the time spent searching for something that would appeal to all. Luckily we chose Garrya Tongsai it suited all our requirements, three separate rooms across the resort gave us space if required. Those who hadn't been to Koh Samui before visited sights around the Island easily organised through the front desk. We as the grand parents were happy to stay at the resort with as much to do or as little to do depending on the day. Breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from. The staff there were incredible after the first morning they all knew our names and preference of table. Lunch was generally at the pool bar then back in for a swim either the private beach, big general pool or the adult Half Moon pool generally with a cocktail or beer delivered ( Mai Tai was a favourite) we had the Tongsai seaview pool villa with its own pool perfect. Dinner there were entertainment options if you like we did them all and throughly enjoyed them but there are other restaurants if you want. Fish Tales, Rhoy Rhoy and Evol all offer something different , with options to go outside the resort if you like.
Besides the Location, the Facilities, the food, the rooms, the staff are the high point of this resort, warm smiles ability to communicate well and a willingness to please. There are too many to name and I feel I would do someone a disservice if I didn't mention their name. Hopefully Manual Lang General Manager and Mark Harrison Hotel Manger ( who are not just the names on the bottom of letterheads but have faces, wander through the resort happy to communicate with all ) can pass on to the staff a well done.
The Grand Kids loved the Kids Club on the occasions they went. Yes there are a few stairs about but just call a buggy if you want. The rooms are well air-conditioned. There are plenty of sun lounges around the pools serviced with towels and cold water One Family member used the Gym and was happy . The resort is big enough not to feel crowded at any time. Would we return Hell Yes but longer. I can understand why they have so many return guests.
My family including our 3 teenage kids had a fantastic time at the resort. We had 2 rooms situated at ground level near the pool which was ideal. Rooms were spacious with huge bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and staff created us by name in the mornings. The resort never felt too busy and it was easy to get a bed at the pool or beach. We also used the infinity pool and some days we were the only ones there. I unfortunately got bitten every day by mosquitoes (despite using spray). Test if family only got odd bite. Teens used the paddle boards and tennis courts, and when we had some rain, pool table and table tennis. We also as a family did the activity of kayaking over to the little island and Cheon Mon with one of the staff which we really enjoyed . It was about a 15 min walk to Cheon Mon ( and the 7 11 store that teens loved). It was so hot that we got a taxi back which was about 200 TBT. The hotel could order you taxis to Fisherman’s village and we also went to Chaweng. ( and then used Grab to get taxi back). Food was lovely also at the beach. The hotel did put on some evening events / meals. However we just felt that these were very expensive compared to the value you could get for meals (including taxi in fisherman’s village etc). It was about 2000 TBT pp ( which might have been ok for a couple). But we could eat out for a family of 5 including drinks for about 3000 TBT so too expensive for a family Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay. It is a quiet resort but easy to get taxis and book trips to venture out and explore Koh Samui
This hotel truly gets it right. A genuine five-star experience, with exceptional quality and impeccable service. A special shout-out to the staff, they are simply amazing and made our stay unforgettable.
Michael and his team have created a really special destination here, one of the best we’ve experienced with staff who simply excel in their roles. Elle and I are very lucky to be able to travel and stay in some fabulous hotels throughout the world and this one is right up there with the best offering a true five star experience. The overall design and situation of the hotel, set around its own private horseshoe beach, is beautiful with villas placed sparingly throughout the lush greenery giving a genuine feeling of space, serenity even. Golf buggies are plentiful and available on demand and the whole resort is kept immaculately clean. Breakfast is superb and the hotels beachfront restaurant Fish Tails produces some of the best food we ate on our trip, we ended up eating here for half of our evening meals which we never usually do. Get the seafood sharing platter, unreal. The hotel have a shuttle to the local small town but are happy to sort taxis to every destination. We had a hillside villa which was split over three levels with views over the bay and fantastic air con and a small pool which we loved spending time in as well as the beach/pool area. The staff need a real shoutout, so friendly and engaging, including the upper management, creating such a lovely atmosphere - I’ve never had my breakfast served by a General Manager before but was often here! Because of the hotel’s beautiful location you are limited if you fancy going for a wander outside the resort but a cheap taxi from the hotel sorts that without issue. Alongside The Samaya Ubud, Tia Welness Da Nang, Vedana Lagoon Hue and Prestige at The Palazzo in Vegas this is one of the few hotels we’d definitely return to. Wifey usually leaves reviews but I’m tasked this time, If you’ve gotten to the bottom of this stop right now and just get this booked, you’ll have the same fabulous we’ve had! Andrew
