- Baan Haad Ngam Boutique Resort and Villas

Surrounded by stunning natural beauty and situated directly on arguably the most beautiful unspoilt white sand beach in Chaweng, this amazing hotel boasts luxury accommodation, fantastic facilities and services and a traditional Thai welcome. Whilst not exploring the island or enjoying beach life, guests can relax in and around the outdoor pool with poolside bar or rejuvenate body and soul with a range of beauty and massage treatments at the Spa. For dining, they may enjoy Italian and International cuisine with panoramic views of the sea and neighbouring tropical islands at the restaurant, followed by relaxing drinks and cocktails in the Bar. All the rooms, villas and suites are stylishly furnished in a contemporary Thai style with all modern amenities.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
If you are thinking about booking Baan Haad Ngam, DON'T. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else. This was by far the absolute worst hotel experience we have ever had.
1. Unprofessional Check-in & Absurd Voucher Demands We booked our stay through my travel agency via Hotelbeds, where we are a Platinum Partner. An extra 5th night was specifically added and agreed upon with their reservation team before arrival to be paid upon check-in. In fact, that 5th night was charged to my credit card and fully paid directly from my card as agreed. All confirmations were fully completed before we traveled. Yet, after a grueling 5-hour journey to reach the hotel, we were met with extreme rudeness right at check-in. The staff suddenly demanded a specific agency voucher that no one had ever mentioned before—a document no other hotel has ever requested from us when booking through Hotelbeds. Because of the time difference, my agency team was asleep. Instead of showing basic common sense and letting us check in while we provided the internal paperwork later, they blocked us for hours over a useless administrative detail.
2. Secret Cancellation of the Paid 5th Night Even after the 5th night was fully paid at check-in, I personally sent two emails to their reservations department asking for formal written confirmation. They never bothered to reply. Then, on our final day, they casually dropped a bomb on us: they had silently canceled our extra night reservation—completely behind our backs, without sending a single warning or notification!
3. Screaming at Paying Guests & Zero Leadership When we asked them to explain why they canceled our fully paid night without telling us or replying to my emails, the front desk staff completely lost control. Instead of fixing their own administrative mistake, they became openly aggressive and literally shouted and screamed at us in the lobby. When I asked to speak directly with the General Manager, he never showed up. When I asked to meet with the reservation team member my agency had been communicating with, they completely stonewalled us. There is zero management accountability or leadership.
4. Thrown Out, Stranded, and Harassed by Police Rather than taking responsibility or fixing their mistake, they flat-out refused to honor our booking. Their only "solution" was to force us into a far more expensive family room at an extra cost or get out. To escape the hostility, I had to immediately book another hotel and leave. In the chaos and extreme stress they caused, an unpaid balance of 80 Euros for incidentals was overlooked. Instead of simply charging the credit card on file—which I had explicitly authorized in writing—the reservation team suddenly started emailing, and management went as far as following us to our new hotel with the police!
Final Verdict: This hotel is run by hostile, incompetent staff with zero standards and no leadership. The GM hides, the staff treat guests like criminals, and they will ruin your entire vacation over their own administrative failures. Avoid this place at all costs!
Our third time here! We love it! The location is great; quieter but close enough to get to restaurants, clubs, bars and shops easily. The staff are fabulous and go out of their way to help. The restaurant has excellent food at all meals and you can sit beach front or in aircon. We chose a pool villa which is very nice. Beautifully clean and made up and has its own loungers near the pool. Our friends had a deluxe pool villa which is back from the ocean but has a pool and small lawn/garden. The beach is clean and although tidal, always has some water to swim or wade. It’s lovely for a morning walk. We will go back!
5 star!! We love this hotel, we have stayed here twice and will definitely be returning next year. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, the rooms are lovely, we have stayed in a deluxe room and just a standard and both are beautiful, very spacious and have all the amenities you could need. The pool is big and lots of sunbeds available. Breakfast is good, lots of choices. We also ate here at the restaurant and the food is lovely. Location is good, 15 minute walk to the strip or easy to get taxi. Also shops and restaurants very close by walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone
The Baan Haad Ngam Resort was amazing, all the staff were so lovely, friendly, personable and so helpful, they helped with anything you needed.
For breakfast there was all different traditional breakfasts so there was a variety of foods.
The room was so clean, cleaners cleaned every day and the room was big.
The resort was on the beach and they had double kayaks and paddle boards.
I would definitely recommend staying in Baan Haad Ngam Boutique Resort.
property is beautiful, but the staff behavior was shocking. Luggage was damaged, water clogging issues were unresolved, basic water was denied, and staff repeatedly shouted at us. Delays caused by the hotel were blamed on us. The experience was stressful and unprofessional. Would not recommend.
