Chaba Cabana Beach Resort

Chaba Cabana is a beautiful hotel, with a gorgeous beach front, the staff are amazing and can’t do enough to look after you, special mention for Jampen who goes above and beyond 🥰 The location is great, you can either walk along the beach to the town or order a Grab, we found that cheaper than the buses that go up and down. The rooms are very spacious and the food very nice We had a lovely stay and would not hesitate at recommending this hotel

Excellent location to tour Koh Samui. We wanted a beach fronted hotel resort and Chaba Cabana did not disappoint. Located right on the beach and 10 minutes at most from the airport. The atmosphere is chilled, friendly and welcoming. All the staff were very attentive and could not do enough for you. We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 older teenagers. We had 2 building rooms with adjoining door which was nice to be close but also gave both rooms privacy. The rooms were modern, clean and attractive, both with sliding doors to an outside balcony area. There is a mini fridge which is charged to the room if used but the housekeepers leave a bottle of water for each person in the room which is complementary along with tea/coffee and creamer. During our stay we had a power cut due to a faulty plug and our air-con stopped working. Both times the maintenance team arrived promptly and sorted the issues quickly and tidied up following repairs. The outside area was beautiful, the pool is relatively small considering the resort size and part of the pool is a private area for pool side chalets. I would imagine at buyer times of the year the pool area gets very busy and perhaps lacks enough sun beds. We always managed to get sun beds but not always together and moving them around was difficult due to lack of space. Many people left towels on beds before breakfast and they remained on them all day but never actually utilised them. This could have been better managed. The pool looked out onto the beach which was stunning and within easy access down a few steps. There is also complementary use of a paddle board and kayak for hotel residents. Water sports are available just down the beach and are reasonable charged but cash only. Our only negatives, if they are every negatives is that other than your hotel room, there are no air-conditioned areas. The reception area is open plan and relatively small. Fans are provided but still very hot. The breakfast/restaurant area is also fully open and quite small for the breakfast rush. It gets extremely hot which when trying to navigate the food stations and then eat is quite uncomfortable. The view from this area over the beach is stunning first thing in a morning though. The breakfast choices are good and plenty of options for all. The pool bar serves food all day up until 2230 and is of a good standard and very reasonably priced. All orders were charged to our room but you can pay cash as-well at the time if you wish. There is a minimum spend for card usage. The bar staff were excellent every day and we developed a good bond with all. Particularly TukTuk and Jamver (apologies if spelled incorrectly) who were always so welcoming, caring and could not do enough for the us all. The staff work long hours but are as happy to help at in the evening as they were at breakfast.

Our only annoyance was that checkout time was changed 2 days before we were due to leave. We were advised at check in that we needed to have checked out by 12 noon. 3 days before we left we enquired about paying for a room extension as we were not being picked up till 6pm. Having no where that was airconned was concerning as the heat was overwhelming at times. We were told that due to hotel capacity we could t extend our rooms but could use a family room for a charge but we decided against it in the end. We were told we could use the hotel shower room wrote we left. The next day we arrived back at our room to a note that checkout was now 11am. We approached the reception staff but were told due to arriving guests we had to be out our room earlier. We challenged this as the day prior we were not told this and hotel booking would have been known in advance. We left the room just after 11 on checkout day, spent the day around the pool area and then used the shower room. This facility was not ideal. It was a small contained room, very warm with just a fan blowing ward air. Towels were provided and a hairdryer. To say we were not refreshed after the shower was true, but at least we had tried!

Overall we had an excellent stay, we would return again and I would recommend this resort to friends and family.

We had a wonderful stay at Chaba Cabana Beach Resort. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the beachfront location was beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast had a good variety, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing.
