Outrigger Surin Beach Resort

Location & Transportation The resort's location is very convenient. The journey from Phuket International Airport is smooth and takes around 40 minutes. You can take the Phuket Smart Bus from the airport and alight at Surin Beach; the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the stop (just take care when crossing the main road). By comparison, traveling from Surin to Patong is quite winding and hilly, which can cause motion sickness. Patong is livelier with more shopping but can be noisy, whereas Surin is far better suited for a laid-back vacation where you simply want to do nothing and relax. Surin Beach is quiet with fine sand and fewer crowds. While there are not many stalls or motorized water sports, it is ideal for those who just want to chill out. Essential amenities like 7-Eleven, massage shops, and local restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

Resort Environment & Service The property is beautifully landscaped with lush greenery. The staff are warm, attentive, and always greet guests with genuine smiles. Whenever you need assistance, they go above and beyond. The front desk provides complimentary beach towels and mats. Luggage assistance is offered during both check-in and check-out, and you can easily request a porter via the app if your bags are heavy. Speaking of the in-app chat, the team's response time is exceptionally fast.

Plunge Pool Suite Experience The suite is very spacious. It features a private plunge pool and a cozy outdoor patio with a sofa, which had minimal mosquitoes (I only spotted one during my 5-night stay). The room has good soundproofing; although it faces the main pool area, outside noise was rarely noticeable aside from occasional distant sounds of children playing. The king-size bed is huge and extremely comfortable. The room layout is well-thought-out: there is a coffee table and sofa for relaxing and watching TV, as well as a small personal dining table and chair for meals. A JBL Bluetooth speaker is provided to play your own music. Standard amenities are complete and practical, including bathrobes, disposable slippers, an iron with an ironing board, and plenty of clothes hangers. The in-room fridge does not have a freezer compartment, but you can easily request ice buckets via the app.

Areas for Improvement

• Bathtub & Bathroom: The bathtub cleanliness could be improved, as there were small stone chips/debris inside upon arrival (unclear if it was from the material or lack of recent use). Because there is no extendable handheld showerhead near the tub, rinsing it was tricky, so I ended up using the ice bucket to scoop water and clean it. In the shower stall, water temperature was great, though water pressure was slightly weak.
• Entertainment: The TV only provides preset local and international channels (Thailand, CNN, BBC, Japan, Korea, etc.) without options to cast or stream Netflix/YouTube.
• Breakfast: The breakfast selection is modest, offering a basic mix of local Thai and Western options.

Overall Verdict An excellent choice for solo travelers seeking peace and quiet, as well as couples looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway.

The staff make this place . They are so friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and stylish. Pools way nicer than expected. Food very good. Would return !
