A very comfortable hotel in Hoi An.
The Silk River Hoi An Retreat was our very first hotel in our 10 day Vietnam vacation and long story short - it is a fantastic little place. It is a standard industry practice to have check-in time at 2:00PM, but since we were arriving in Vietnam around 10 in the morning, I booked the hotel one day prior. (For those who don't want to skimp, this is actually money well spent). I did this because I wanted access to my room, as soon as I reached the hotel.
Anyway, we reached and the staff were extremely courteous and although breakfast closes around 9:30AM, they had kept some food for us, expecting that we will definitely arrive hungry! So thoughtful!
The hotel itself is not too big. It is a medium sized property, that is bang on the river bank (hence the name). The thing that I actually did not like is the extremely narrow approach road, that brings you to the front of the hotel, from the main road. For a moment I thought that our car may not fit in that tiny lane! But fortunately the car could get through and we were dropped at our hotel!
The rooms were quite well appointed and also came with their own tiny little balcony! It was quite comfortable and the bathroom was also functional and clean. Not luxurious but definitely had a premium feel.
I know I am repeating this - staff was very hospitable and courteous and made our stay quite memorable.
Overall it is great place to stay in Hot An.
