France Travel Advice

Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

Entry requirements:

Entry requirements for children

• Children under 18 travelling unaccompanied must present a signed AST authorisation form, their own ID card/passport, and a copy of the ID card or passport of the parent/guardian who has signed the AST form. More information can be found on the French Ministry of Interior website.

Passport validity

• For Schengen area countries, your passport must be issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months after your planned departure. Check Schengen area passport requirements.

Visa requirements:

General

• Visa-free travel for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for visits to countries in the Schengen area (including France) for tourism, visiting family/friends, attending business/cultural/sports events, and short-term studies/training.

Customs checks upon entry into France:

• There are limits on the volume and value amounts for certain goods that you can bring into France. Check the French Directorate General of Customs and Excise website for latest allowances per traveller

Travelling with pets

• For travelling with pet dogs, cats, or ferrets, follow the UK government guidance.
• For other pets, obtain a health document signed by a vet.

Please note that there are no COVID-19 related requirements for entering France.
