Entry requirements

All travellers UK citizens visiting Peru for tourism purposes do not need a visa, but for other purposes consult the Peruvian Consulate-General in London. COVID-19 vaccination requirements for entry have been removed as of 26 October 2022.

Passport validity Your passport should be valid for six months from the date you arrive in Peru.

Entry requirements for children

Children under the age of 18 years travelling on a British passport who have resident status in Peru need written permission to leave the country. This permission should include the proposed destination, the purpose of the trip, the date of departure, and the return date. They can get the permission from a notary public in Peru.

In the event a notarial permission can not be obtained, the child will need a judicial written permission issued by a judge.

Visa requirements:

General Normally, you don’t need a visa to travel if the purpose of the visit is tourism/visit. You will normally be given permission to stay for up to 90 days upon arrival. If you overstay, there will be a fine and potentially detention.

If you have tourist status in Peru and plan to sign any contracts, apply online for a special permit. For more information, contact the Peruvian Immigration Office or the Peruvian Consulate-General in London.

Travel forms

If your passport lacks an entry stamp when you enter Peru via land border, you need to fill out a form available online and provide necessary evidence of your entry to Peru. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to leave and could face penalties.

Banned Items

You can enter Peru with one laptop and two mobile phones maximum per passenger without paying taxes.
